I just got this cd today. I had to wait for like two hours in front of HMV (main music store in Canada) to get this, got the second last cd, so im realy happy. Im gessing that thos in UK came out a few days earlier, but I beat you to the review! Its realy scary, and it was my girlfriend that pointed it out to me, that I look like a younger, with-out glass's and earing, version of the lead singer. Anyway, this is the second album by Franz Ferdinand, and it is not a let down. Great album, well rounded, all the songs comming out at about a 8 out of 10. Franz has realy matured in there composing from the last song. In there debue album, there drum rifs were rather simble and the lyrics simple and repetitif. A lot better performance on there part, keeping the clasic Brittish flair to ther music. As a proud scotsman, I do have to say that Franz Ferdinand is one of the best bands to come out of the U.K. in a while.
At first, I did not realy like the songs, but after the 3erd time, the song realy started to grow on me. I was a bit sad that they had not put out a kick a$$ song like Take Me Out, but I found Eleanor put Your Boots On, a rather amusing song, due to the fact that they sang it like the original Beatles song.

Album Genre: Who knows
Track List:
No Kind Words - 9.5
Thunder in the Valley - 9.5
Aced Out - 10
Album Description:
Well, this album is really hard to describe. Beach Party Blockade has a distinct feel to it. It has a couple members from the band James Rabbit, so the style is a little similar, but there is a fairly big difference. Max Bennett-Parker does (most) vocals, and his voice is amazing. To listen to the music on this album, visit their MySpace at www.myspace.com/beachpartyblockade. You won't regret it.

Demon Days: 8 out of 10
I realy enjoied this album, realy enjoied dance to it with my girlfriend at her b-day. Good all around album again. Most of there song in this album drift more away from Rap and more to techno. Im not a great fan of Rap, so I did not mind. Feel Good Inc. is my clear favorite song from the cd, but Dare came in second. They still have the same bizzar music vidios, and Dare was no execption, it mistyfied me for a good ten minuts.

Ok, ok, I have had this album for about a year and a half, but it is probably the best (in my oppinion) progressive Rock album to come out in 5 years. I realy had to share it with you all. Compaired to most of my other liking for music, it is lot heavyer then normal. But its my best album in my whole and rather massive colection.

Sadly, the rest of there songs did not hold up with there first song, Club Foot. They sound like a mellowed out version of Franz Ferdinand. They are much more mature in the type of music played. They have a bit of the Beatles, Genesis and Coldplay in there songs. The voice of the main singer is kinda repetitif, realy the only song were he does not use like a comp to chance it is L.S.F., which was a nice supprise, since it sounded very much like the older Beatles. All around good slow dance music at Rock parties. Best song to get the crowd going would be Club Foot.

Album Description:
This is pretty much a typical Marilyn Manson album. Which means, it's pretty damn good. Though everybody thinks he is a freak, his music is damn good. Especially the covers he did, (Personal Jesus, Sweet Dreams, and Tainted Love). Though he didn't write the songs, he re-did them in his own style, which in a sense improved upon the original. Rock is Dead is my favorite song, just because it rocks. So, hard-rockers, buy this. Buy it now.

I have been told that if you like this then Franz Ferdinand(sp?) is also a good option, so the same theory should aply in reverse. So if you like Franz Ferdinand then take a listen to this band. They are fairly good. My favourite song would have to be Somebody Told Me.

I heard this album for the first time driving down to an LRP event and thought it was a pretty mediocre uninspiring piece of rock.
But how wrong I was. I gave it a chance and really listened to it and now in my mind I think this is one of the best rock albums to come out in ages. I personally love "I am the Highway" and it has become my theme song but this album isn't made up of just one or two good songs. It's consistantly good throughout.
My advice, play it over and over on your headphones while your at work. In one day you'll appreciate how well written this is.

This album is a fairly good album I think. It is rock alrigth but not a heavy rock, it is more of the relaxing rock. It has a few good tracks here and there but over all it is just a average to good album. One I think that would be enjoyed by some who like slightly more relaxed rock music. If you are more into the heavy earbashing rock then this album might not be for you.

5 years in the writing I expected great things from With Teeth. NIN have been going for years but Trent Reznor seems to be timeless in producing tracks that make you want to go wild. Some of the best moshes on the dance floors I been to are to his songs.
With Teeth gives you glimpses of Pretty Hate Machine, The Downward Spiral but it never quite matches either. He has certainly reverted to the sounds of those albums but hasn’t quite captured their power. There is nothing to match Sin, or the famous Closer. The Hand that Feeds is a rocking track and Right Where it Belongs, is nearly as good as Hurt, but for 5 years of waiting I’m not sure its good enough

But really, Nirvana was a revolutionary band, who...revolutionized music. Ok, I'm a little tired right now. Anyways. Songs like The Man Who Sold The World, Smells Like Teen Spirit (of course), and stuff, make this album a definite must to own. And to listen to...over, and over, and over. Though the album is short, it has quite a few good songs, (hence the Greatest Hits, I suppose). Rooster is definately my favorite song on the album, but Heaven Beside You is good too, and the acoustic-ness of No Excuses helps with the album. Many of the songs sound pretty similar, but they're still good. So, if you like Rock, you'll probably like this album.

14. Don't Get Lost in Heaven - 9
15. Demon Days - 9
Album Description:
This album starts out with the Intro (to hear it, go to Gorillaz.com). It's probably the worst song on the entire album. It immediately gets better with the good (though repetitive) Last Living Souls. The Gorillaz mastered harmony in this album, as shown in songs like Kids With Guns (in the chorus), Feel Good Inc., Fire Coming Out of a Monkey's Head, and November Has Come. This album has a few songs where you think "This song sucks" and then a really good part comes up, and it all makes sense, and the song no longer sucks. Kinda like Moulin Rouge. Anyone see that movie? I hated it until I saw the whole thing. Anyways, songs like November Has Come (which is like a rap song that redeems itself...sorry but I don't like rap). Oh yeah, many songs have kind of a rap thing going on, until they don't. Or something. My favorite song is probably Fire Coming Out of a Monkey's Head. It's just cool like that.

Linkin Park are one of those groups that can create great choruses over and over but are not very productive, only making a few songs and then rehashing them repeatedly. This is one of those rehash albums but unlike some of their efforts to freshen up old songs this one really works. I probably think this is down to the Jay-Z influence as they combine a track from each artist to make something better in most cases. This is a good mix of Rock Rap, and in my opinion it’s probably Linkin Park’s best album.
My major gripe is that it is short, another 5 songs would have made this great.
